From a skiing perspective, it's not the most exciting area. Although it's really easy to reach (we drove in 7,5 hours from the middle of the Netherlands), the town is a bit lower and therefore snow conditions are not perfect in the valley. Mountain snow conditions were a lot better. I can imagine in Summer it's amazing to hike, for skiing it would not be my area of choice, although I can imagine with young kids it's lovely.

The Silence-Sporthotel Zugspitze was chosen at random. But...
Fantastic service; on arrival we were welcomed, shown to a large and nice room, presented menu and informed that our dog was welcome in the restaurant.
Lovely food and excellent service; buffet starter, good soup and perfectly cooked lamb. Exceptional service from the waiters. Amazing.
Silence-Sporthotel Zugspitze shows how it can and should be done.
It is hereby recommended.

We travel almost every winter to Ehrwald and Lermoos for skiing. This August was the first time we visited the neighbourhood during summer and it was SO nice! Very beautiful lakes to walk to, kids-friendly, really a must-do during summer holidays.

Amazing town with a beautiful view! We didn’t get to explore it as much as we should have but the tone of the town was relaxing and had an excellent selection of restaurants! The breakfast at our hotel was phenomenal and the dinner at 180 was amazing! Views were beautiful and we walked around the town easily.

I don't normally leave reviews, but this hotel is incredible, the spa and rooms are beautiful and all the staff go above and beyond for you. It's the best hotel I've ever stayed at.
The views are just unbelievable as well.
Nice family hotel directly in the centre and only a few meters from the Grubigsteinbahn cablecar. Perfect location! We had a nice view over the mountains and the entrance to the terrace.
