Location. It's overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains, but the construction site right in front of our door was obsructing our view.

We enjoyed visiting the salt mine and though we knew it was off season, it was hard to find a restaurant for an evening meal. All in all, though Hallstatt is beautiful, I would have been satisfied with a day trip from Salzburg. I think it would be a great location if you're into hiking in the mountains and the views were lovely.

Beautiful place, the views from Salzwelten (Salt Mines) view points are incredible, recommended tour! Take in consideration that the village is usually crowded and mostly one lane streets what make driving a bit difficult. Most of the places in front of the lake only accepts cash.

Hallstatt is an amazing place, totally worth it with all the views and hikes, and I was lucky with the weather considering that was November. However, the village is very small. You can visit the major highlights in 1 day and after 5 pm almost everything is closed. So, you need to be creative about what to do after that hour.

Hallstatt still retains its peaceful, traditional village character. The scenery is very beautiful and romantic. The night is quiet. The Skywalk and the Salt Mine are very interesting.
The whole fish with salad at the Heritage Hotel is delicious.
Regret: Due to the health of a member of the group, we had to leave halfway, not reaching the waterfall in Hallstatt. The scenery on the way to the waterfall is quite beautiful with simple houses at the foot of the vertical cliff and the sound of the stream all along the way.

Beautiful town, in gorgeous setting!
Beautiful town, in gorgeous setting! Wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy checking out the little shops before they closed. One evening was enough for us to enjoy - small town. Had a delicious simple dinner and enjoyed the local pubs after tourists left and town emptied out. Had a nice chat with a local man. It was lovely!

there are soooo many tourists in Hallstatt.
there are soooo many tourists in Hallstatt. It has obviously made it onto the list of places to visit and great busloads show up. Must be a real pain to live in the pretty part of town. But the town is beautiful, I recommend a boat on the lake (only 35 euro for 4 (maybe 5) people to go where they will for an hour. Didn't go to the salt mine because it's so expensive but went on some very beautiful hikes and enjoyed St. Michaels Chapel - prettiest cemetary we'd ever seen, and a really interesting ossuary. The little self serve supermarket in town is cool and the prices reasonable. Lots of nice little shops and an interesting free museum under the sport shop.

The property is located in the middle of the main square of Hallstatt, a beautiful place. We booked the room with a balcony to the main square and do not regret, the view is spectacular. The property offers a pick up from P1 (which we ended up not using), we parked at P3 instead and walked to the property, a 15 min walk along their main street. The restaurant of the hotel is very nice with good food.
Location is great you can drink your coffee or wine while watching the lake. The hotel is at the center of Hallstatt so it is easy to walk whereever you want.Room is fantastic with old and antique furnitures.Breakfast is so nice and chic
Everything was perfect!
Highlight of our Austrian trip. Best location in Hallstatt with car park.
