The room was pretty decently sized. The location was perfect. Just a few mins walk from the station and walkable distance from the old town as well. Lots of eateries and shops around. The bed was quite comfortable. The daily room service was an added advantage.
Dating from 1878, Altstadt Hotel Hofwirt is right next to Linzer Gasse, a pedestrian zone in the centre of Salzburg.

the room is comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was very good and staff worked hard to tidy up and refill dishes; even lovely cake was available.

the Hotel has a great location - a few steps to pedestrian area and 10 mins to get over the bridge into the old town- lovely stroll.
(quite a few busses go to the hotel from right outside the main station; best to buy ticket/s in the tobacconist on the way out, a few euros cheaper than on the bus)

This was our alternative place which Booking.com found for us when the original place had missed our booking and were full to take us in.
The staff here were kind and helpful, the parking was easy and plenty and the room was comfy. Would recommend for anyone looking for an easy and hassle-free stay.

It was a decent place to sleep for the night, but definitely expensive for what it offers and it's location.

A great location to explore Salzburg.
We arrived in our own car and the main entrance to the hotel was on a very busy road. It took a while for the porter to arrive to help with our luggage up a flight of stairs to the reception area. The hotel has also got another entrance straight from the inner city area, no stairs and easy to reach. The reception team were very friendly and helpful. Our selected room had a very good size with good views of the city. The room was clean and comfortably furnished. Service at breakfast and in the bar area was a bit erratic.
Only a 10-minute walk from Mirabell Palace, the Congress Centre, and the main train station, and a 15-minute walk from the Old Town, the modern, non-smoking Das Jedermann Boutiquehotel mit Stadtgarten...
