We had a good few days in Melk. It was made exceptional by the staff at Zur Post. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful in a difficult situation during an epic flood. We were so appreciative of all the ways they made us feel welcomed and helped us to make the very best in a tough situation. The hotel and restaurant were outstanding. We will make this hotel a destination when we’re in the region given the opportunity.

Emmersdorf is very nice but approximately 15 kilometers upstream of the heart of the wine country. The hotel and spa are very nice. But in extremely warm conditions be aware that there is no air conditioning.
Just steps away from the Danube River and located right on the Danube Bicycle Trail, Landhotel Wachau is located at the western entrance to the Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site.
