very clean and comfy apartment, staff was super helpful and nice! highly recommended
Hotel Schloss Dürnstein enjoys a unique location on a rock high above the Danube River, at the heart of the Wachau World Heritage Site, offering a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Danube and...
Small village. It was pleasant to have dinner at the local fair. There are no shops or restaurant, only a supermarket and a caffee. The Göttweig Stift is beautiful, and the restaurant there is good but very expensive. The Danube is few kilometers away and the view is stunning.
This is not an hotel - it is an adventure! staying at an actual active monastery in an amazing castle overlooking the entire valley.
The place is a tourist attraction by its own with amazing church, gardens and hiking trails.
When we needed maintainance - two monks appeared in full cloaks and tools.
From the room to the resturant you go through a maze of tunnels, inner courts and heavy doors, feeling like a medival monk.
Yet rooms are large, well maintained and comfortable
Resturant is very good and modern with beautiful balcony
Beautiful place amongst wineyards with the scenery of baroque abbey Gottweig. It felt like a nice gentle touch of Provence by Danube. We've been served true home made breakfast, grape marmelade was excellent. We were lucky to stay during wine tasting weekend in some of the Wachau valley, then the evening with bottle of local wine in front of our rooms was charming. Great place to stay. The owner is great in hospitality, helpfulness and she recommended us other nice places to visit. Thank you.
Wonderful place, wonderful view from the monastery. This is experience, not only hotel. Be ready for surprises - rooms are like from previous century, but it is advantage you should enjoy and feel the breath of history. This is not a typical hotel - if you want modern interior and comfort, don't go there. This is place where to stop for a moment, where to enjoy the beauty of nature, to see the life of monastery, to be in the silence. Really recommend this place!
This apartment is amazing. The facilities are excellent, a modern residence in an old house. We just had to g’et used to the fact that everything was open-area, kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom in a large room. However, the toilet is on it’s own 😀.
Lovely large balcony. The village it-selskab is a bit dull, but surrounded by vineyards and from the bedroom window it overbookes the beautiful monastery of Stift Göttweig.
I went there for mountain biking and I loved that the monastery offers single rooms that are accordingly priced. And it is right next to the trail area in Göttweig.
