The place looks great.
It is not in the center, no noise, not crowded, it gave us a reason for taking a nice walk in the evening if we wanted to go in the center.
It has a large yard, with grass and trees.
The building exterior and everything inside is new, clean, spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom is bigger than what we saw and has a glass between the shower and the toilet, which is preventing to flood the entire bathroom. Be aware when booking on the Albanian seaside, some have really small bathroom and no separation between the shower and the toilet, but here is not the case.
Excelent breakfast, with vegetables, fruits, milk, eggs and cheese, among other things.

There are plenty of bars, restaurants to visit during each time of the day by the beach. My favorite places to eat are "Familja", "Ada Vilun", "Eja", "407", "Lamaroja".
Velipoja is easy to reach, 30 min from the biggest northern Albanian city, Shkoder as such worth the visit if you want to just spend some beach days or if you're planning to visit the city as well as mountaints which are 1-2 hours away from Shkoder.

I visited Velipojë at the beginning of May, when the season was just about to begin. This means, I was all alone (in the hotel, on the beach, on the streets).
Unfortunately, the amount of garbage that comes in from the Buna river delta makes the wild, unkept beach almost a hazard to walk through. Maybe it is nicer during full season, when terrace owners are in charge of cleaning the beach up.
There is a nice promenade along the beach and quite a trek to the Buna delta. The beach is black sand.

Since it's a tourist place, it could be a bit better...
Since it's a tourist place, it could be a bit better decorated. There is simply garbage everywhere. People don't speak English, especially older people, so it's a bit hard to communicate with local people. It's easy to get around, because it's not big. There is one big street and a small center and that's it.
Beach is ok, but again, to much garbage lying around. There are few hotels which look nice, but everything else looks outdated and deteriorating.
I am not that relevant to speak about restaurants and other stuff, since I stayed only half a day, but I think there are lot better places in Albania to spend your vacation.

The actual town is developing. It looks like it will be a great place to visit. Everything was closed when we visited, but it looks like there are many amenities available during the regular tourist season.

Velipoja is one of the best seaside locations in Albania,...
Velipoja is one of the best seaside locations in Albania, especially for families with children. Its long seaside promenade and black sand is ideal for strolling around with your baby or letting him/her play with the sand. The sea feels fresher than other beach areas and there are plenty of public beaches where you can stay for free. Also a lot of trash bins makes it easy not to throw trash around. The buildings do not exceed five floors high and are excellently and purposly erected, making it very charming and in harmony with nature.
