Everything was perfect. We are glad we chose this Hotel
There are many charming beaches around Ksamil. It is convenient to move around the city on foot. A wide selection of hotels and restaurants. In the off-season few tourists but many shops or restaurants do not work. We travel in the off-season and with the dog. Most hotels and restaurants are pet-friendly. We also stayed on the beach with the dog, but paid on the beach. Beaches clean and also water very clean.

We had a great holiday however, there is not many activities and the beaches are all
Private you have to hire a sun bed I think this is the biggest negative the sea is beautiful. The food is lovely look around and you will get a good deal drinks are not as cheap as you may expect. Book day excursion And get a bus from Sarande port (30 mins 1 euro) cheaper then taxi but last bus maybe 6pm. Take sterling and change when there to Leke will also need some Euro. If planning on going lomg weekend maybe enough and be prepared to pay for sun beds.

Our apartment had fantastic views
Our apartment had fantastic views
The apartment was so well equipped and spacious.
Our host was so friendly and very helpful when we wanted to book a trip by bus. He sent us links via Google mail to get the bus,
For a holiday let I would highly recommend, it was excellent.
If you are travelling from the UK I would advise you get a new SIM card for help with Google maps if you would like to explore the area.
Your phone will not work otherwise as it is outside the EU
Ksmali is a beautiful beach but perhaps has been overtaken with the need to buy a sun bed in order to sit on the beach. There are no spaces to sit without buying an expensive sun bed, which is such a shame. In early Sept is was £33 for one person for a sun bed and an umbrella, It would have cost us over £120 for a family of 4 to sit on the beach for the day.

Ksamil is not the "pearl of Albania" as advertised.
Ksamil is not the "pearl of Albania" as advertised. Too noisy and overcrowded, no cleanliness in public places, no parks to walk in, no free area on concession beaches, no lifeguards. For a very high price (20-30 euros) you get two dirty deckchairs and a torn straw umbrella. The sea is polluted, too many motor boats and jets. The food is good, so is the service in the restaurants, but that's the only good thing there.

Ksamil is the typical example of mass tourism and the lack of regulations. The beaches are extremely tiny compared to the amount of people. There are no regulations regarding beach bars, placing sunbeds, construction, trash management, noise, environment etc. Whoever had a property there, occupied a slice from the beach and sells sunbeds for unlimited prices, 20-30-50+ euros. As soon as you approach their "private beach" the eagerly come to collect money even if you are just trying to walk through which is not easy because of the amount of sunbeds&people. Beaches are very narrow with unnatural sand brought there. Some bars playing loud music which can be heard from far far away whole day repeatedly. The environment (even on the little islands!) is totally ruined with trash. Nothing traditional is available, pizza, cocktails&crepes everywhere, overpriced of course. There is nothing to do with kids, no playground or waterpark or anything and even nothing to see besides the bars. There is approx. a 20m line from the beach where you can swim, all the other area is for the boats. The ignorance of government, the greed of the locals and the careless selfishness of tourists totally exploited this once beautiful place.

Ksamil is an excellent destination.
Ksamil is an excellent destination. The Albanian people here were so friendly. We visited some excellent restaurants - our favourite was the Smoke House, off the main strip but the food and hospitality were amazing. Also Vamos cocktail bar - super friendly with a great range of ages and cocktails. You can pretty much walk everywhere - we hired a scooter for two days, at €20/day to see more of the area. Very safe to walk everywhere.

The young host was very, very nice. He constantly offered help, and if we needed anything, he asked us to contact him. He gave us a couple of tips and suggestions like what restaurant to go to, what to visit, what beach to go to etc. , The breakfast was good, I guess traditional Albanian breakfast. The location is great, close to bakeries, supermarkets, bus station Saranda- Butrint. We were really satisfied with everything. A warm recommendation to everyone and if I go to Ksamil again, I would book an apartment in Villa Maison again.
The view...let's start with the view 😍 a real gem! We found the hotel easily. Indoor free parking, nice clean rooms. The restaurant is on a terrace overlooking the beach, which is two steps away. The food is superb - Stella is a masterchef - fresh, delicious seafood. The hosts are cordial and hospitable. We will definitely be back. Thank you for letting us touch the beauty of Albania in this warm way ❤️
We had the most amazing stay at the Blue Water Hotel. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and beaches, excellent facilities and breakfast, but the best part was the staff. Bruna and her team went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay in Ksamil, from recommending places to eat and drink to helping with taxis and trip planning in Albania.
The best place we stai in all Albania! The owner were lovely and very helpful. Our room was spacious and very clean. In the Marku palace is swimming pool which guests can use so if u don’t want to go to the beach you can stay there. The Sunbeds very comfortable. From
The hotel is close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Perfect place to stay! Highly recommend!
Thanks Luciano for all the recomendations! You are the best! Nice balcony with amazing view to the beach and sunset! The breakfast is the best in Albania!
