For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
We absolutely loved it at Ikaya. Indeed one of the best views in Port St John. Sea lagoon and native bush all from the comfort of your own private balcony.
The host is professional and very accommodating, jumping to assist with any request or inquiry.
The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom tidy and spacious, and overall the chalet was stylish yet homely.
A very nice place for backpackers.
Cool bar and socializing area including dance floor.
Simple but nice food options (both for dinner and breakfast)
Fireplace for braai and warm up
Immaculately manicured and very neat family resort set in magnificent enclosed surroundings - a far cry from the once picturesque Port St John's which has sadly seen much better days. Views and location are absolutely superb! Day 1 breakfast was fabulous. Well appointed chalets. Friendly cleaning lady. Overall a very serene venue and an escape from reality with a relaxing holiday feel.
The location of the beach-facing hut is just wonderful. White linen on the bed was welcome as were the lovely fresh, clean towels. The host, Mark, went above and beyond to welcome us and make us safe and comfortable. He was so helpful when our car broke down in town - he picked us up, drove us to the supermarket and delivered the car keys to the towing man!
