The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. In terms of service delivery they were excellent. The game drives were wonderful, we saw all of the big 5 and having your own dedicated game ranger made the experience very personable. The food and drinks in the all inclusive option was excellent and the staff take great care into making sure whatever you wanted or needed is taken care of. Our accommodation overlooked the watering hole and on our last day, about 12 Giraffe were spotted around, which was really special. My wife and I went to Cheetah ridge by chance as we had a wedding to attend in the area, we wanted to recharge and reset - Cheetah ridge was perfect and is a hidden Gem, well worth the effort and the price.

The breakfast is fab with quite a lot of variety - fresh fruits and juice, pastries, a la carte etc. The tea and dinner were also up to standard - it would be great if they added a few more elevated South African classics.
The common areas and rooms are beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail, we particularly enjoyed the small patio and the large windows of the bedroom that looked out onto the veld where warthogs, nyala, and kudu were strolling past, as well as the beautiful weaver birds building nests in the trees. I had an in-room massage, which was fab.
The reserve has a plethora of animals one would hope to see on a game drive - it's perfect for first-timers and foreigners. Our ranger Joe was knowledgeable and patient. Overall, it was a very relaxing vacation.

Our weekend at Tugela River Lodge was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning natural beauty surrounding the lodge. The cycling trails were the perfect mix of adventure and scenic views, allowing us to explore the area at our own pace. After an active morning, we spent our afternoons kayaking along the Tugela River, soaking in the tranquility and spotting some amazing wildlife along the way.
But the cherry on top? Lounging in the hot tub under the stars after a full day of outdoor fun—it was absolute bliss. The lodge itself was cozy and welcoming, with everything we needed to unwind and feel at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure our stay was perfect from start to finish.

I cannot recommend Nambiti Plains enough. My husband and I spent 3 nights for our Honeymoon and had an incredible time. The facilities are stunning, the food was great with a lot of variety and the staff are exceptional. They could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. A special shout out to Cindy who ensured we were well looked after during our meals, to JP our ranger who was extremely knowledgeable and cared for the wellbeing of the animals and to Alife and Magdel who were super tentative and set up our room beautifully for our honeymoon.
Lions Valley Lodge is situated within the Nambiti Private Game Reserve, home to the Big Five as well as antelope and an abundant birdlife. The lodge features an infinity pool and free WiFi.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
The breakfast was great! It was a cold and misty morning and fireplace created a warm cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious and the small fridge was very convenient.
My wife and I stayed here on our way to the Drakensberg and we were so pleased with our choice. The cabin we had was lovely and the views over the city are very nice. Being both vegetarian we were very pleased with the breakfast options
