Winterton Country Lodge @ Rose Cottage, hotel in Bergville

Beautiful well-maintained garden really makes this country getaway destination feel like paradise. Large comfortable bed in a cozy but spacious wood cabin that provides everything you can possibly need. There are also lots of thoughtful little touches, a decanter with sherry, bath salts, bubble bath and scented candles in the bathroom, a bath towel large enough to go round your body and then some (for a change), and fleece blankets on the chairs on the veranda if it gets chilly while you're watching the sunset across the dam.

All cabins in Bergville
Looking for a cabin?
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The view at Windmill chalets is unparalleled. Literally takes your breath away. The shower in the chalet is awesome. Hot water immediately. There was also WIFI with a full variety of TV chalets. Bongi, the lady who lives on site, was kind and professional.

Chalets are really very spacious and modern, equipped with everything one needs. We didn't know what to expect as there are not many photos on booking.com, but the chalets really exceeded all expectations. Huge terasse leading to a big garden. Great views, very fast reliable internet, big clean pool. Nice staff. Really nothing to complain about, it's a great place to stay.

The cabin I choose, because it had a fridge was at the end of the grounds. I did have dinner in the central dining room every night. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

Huge and well appointed chalets with fireplaces inside and covered patio with BBQ facilities outside. The view from our chalet (number 15) was truly exceptional. You could recline on the sofa with unrestricted landscape views of the Tugela River and Amphitheatre Mountain.
