For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
The chalets were incredibly cosy and a perfect midway stop while travelling from the Free State back to Cape Town. Not only were the staff and accommodations amazing, the braai pack was generous and we were able to purchase wine upon our arrival as we checked in a bit late. Being set on a game farm they were also dog friendly which was really nice as we were travelling with two dogs. Next time we’ll definitely stay an extra night to explore the property.
Beautiful farm scenery. Animals walking everywhere, even close to chalets on grass. All the trails for walking and cycling are lovely. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and beautiful chalets. Friendly staff. Nice boma for big groups around fire.
Clean and spacious fully equipped chalet. There are 7 chalets and are spaced well apart for maximum privacy. The chalets overlook a small water hole and there are game species and giraffe roaming the property. There is opportunity to drive to the Stables accommodation and also to walk around. The accommodation is a 5 min drive from the Karoo National Park. Great braai area and a shop where you can stock up on braai essentials.
Wonderful self catering chalets nestled in the Karoo mountains just outside Beaufort West. Chalets were well equipped with lots of fluffy towels and coffee , sugar and milk. There was even an airfyer in our unit.Friendly staff who serviced the unit daily ..Maps supplied and routes well marked for exploring the vast property. We will be back
The setting is very tranquil although it is situated on a working farm. The chalet was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioner came in very handy for the hot Karoo temperature.
Lovely braai facility that was well prepared and stocked.
This was a great 2 night break of journey from Cape Town to Joburg. The camp is a lovely green oasis in the Karoo. A good range of game comes to the camp in afternoon and overnight. From our chalet or patio we saw impala, a warthog, kudu and a range of birds, just 10 metres away. When we woke up in the morning several giraffe were already breakfasting on nearby (approx 25m) green foliage -photos and videos available if you move slowly and quietly.
It's a great place for a braai and there is a bar available if required.
The huts are situated on a beautiful green meadow. They are simple but well equipped. At night, various animals came to graze (giraffes, antelopes, an aardvark). You can hike and also drive through the area by car (4x4 is recommended). Our children were thrilled by the large tortoises running around everywhere. Keep doors closed because of the baboons that live behind the huts on the mountain. We had a wonderful time!

THE UNCOOKED BRAAI MEAT WE ORDERED WAS WAITING IN THE FRIDGE AND WAS DELICIOUS. ALTHUOGH WE ARRIVED IN THE DARK, ABOUT TWO HOURS LATE, WE WERE RECEIVED MOST POLITELY.
WHEN WE WOKE AT DAWN WE WERE SURROUNDED BY AT LEAST SIX MILD -MANNERED GIRAFFES. OUR DOG WAS WARMLY WELCOMED. THE CHALETS WERE VERY CLEAN, WELL DESIGNED AND COMFORTABLE. WE WERE ADVISED WHEN TO EXPECT ELECTRICITY SHUTDOWNS AND WERE PROVIDED WITH TORCHES AND CANDLES. IT FELT AS THOUGH WE WERE TRULY FAR FROM THE MADDENING CROWD ALTHOUGH TOWN WAS ONLY TEN MINUTES AWAY.
Very nice and cozy chalet in a beautiful and peaceful surrounding, nice room and terrace (with fireplace), beautiful garden, kind and helpful staff, nice pool, nice jeep tour!
