We rented Casa Oso for the Christmas holidays. The house is beyond gorgeous, very spacious, and comfortable.
It is well kept and very clean. It also had all amenities that our family needed during our stay. The inside is super cozy, and nicely furbished. The outside areas are clean, well-kept, and safe.
The towns of Mariposa and Oakhurst were at close distance, and the drive to Yosemite State Park was within a reasonable distance.
Communications with the owner went very well. Maja and Anne were always available to answer our questions and provide recommendations or advice on the region and close towns. We loved every minute of our stay, and hope to return soon in the near future. Casa Oso is highly recommended!

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Sometimes a place is really exceptional and should get a 10* rating. The setting is wonderful and only a short drive to Yosemite. The appliances are all top quality. The layout of the cabin is well designed and the space is very relaxing. The communication with the owner is first rate and the advice is very welcomed. Comfortable beds, and tvs in the living area and a large one in the lounge.
We really loved this cabin, it was comfortable and spacious in a beautiful area. It’s approximately an hour driving to and from Yosemite valley along the Merced river which is a very pretty drive. It was really nice to get back here and relax after a day of hiking.
Nice fluffy towels, wonderful soaps, mattress neither too soft nor too hard, real quality coffee and coffee maker in the room, nice peaceful seats outside to enjoy evening breeze, spectacular vintage fan in room (also aircon but we did not want it and shut it off). Breakfast in the "Sticks" (same compound) is organic and spectacular. Quiet location, but right around the corner from Mariposa historical sights
We had just come from Las Vegas and this was the perfect antidote to relax and enjoy Yosemite.
The cabin was spotless and we were delighted to see a welcome basket and drinks in the fridge, so appreciated after the long drive.
Would recommend very highly.
The cabin, or should I say a house, was spotlessly clean and comfortable was ideally located in the hills. It was remote and, therefore, very peaceful. The views at night were spectacular. So many stars and we could make out the Milky Way. An added treat was to see 2 hummingbirds feeding. It was also great to sit and watch the sun rise from the veranda.
