Everything went so well at Belle Vue Nishiura, we felt almost 'homesick' to leave!
My 2 friends and I stayed there for a short ski/snowboarding trip after our time in Tokyo. Communicating with Satoshi-san on pick-up time and location from the station was so easy, just like how he could answer our pre-arrival inquiries promptly too. His cozy little lodge provides a hearty breakfast with free flow tea/coffee/juices and bread, everyday we woke up only to think about hitting the slopes with all the logistics cared for! Gear/wear rentals, shuttle service are all available, with rental prices giving the resorts a run for their money.
The shared bathrooms were spotless and hopping into the bath after a long day out was just the cherry on top.
Satoshi-san and his family work round the clock in the lodge staying there almost feels like an invitation into his family home; we will definitely go back!

The owners were extremely kind and accommodating, and very knowledgeable about caring for dogs. The room was spacious and the grounds were perfect for someone traveling with a dog. It is right down the road from Yuzawa so you're near all of the most popular ski attractions.

We had a wonderful stay at Mominoki Lodge. Zack & family were the best hosts. The house was beautiful, perfectly clean, they had all and any little things you might need (lots of towels!!). They kindly left some food supplies for us to get us started. The beds were very comfortable. We used the outdoor bbq and firepit twice, which was wonderful. There is lots to do in the area within 30 minute drive - we went rafting with Canyons, kayaking with House Nomad, crafts in Takumino-no-sato, and Takaragawa onsen. Do not hesitate to book Mominoki Lodge. You will not regret it!
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
It was very clean and well maintained, the bedding was super comfortable and the air conditioning really helped cool down the summer heat. We were there for Fuji Rock and the location is really great for getting the shuttle bus to the venue and back. The lodge even offered a free service back to the station the day after the festival. Staff were super friendly and helpful too.
I stayed at the hotel for the Fuji Rock Festival. Their location is just a few minutes' walk from Echigo Yuzawa, where you arrive from Tokyo and get on the shuttle for the festival to Naeba. The room is beautiful and very spacious, also super clean. There was free coffee, tea, and even free Yakult and ramen at certain hours. The hotel also had an onsen, which I was not able to take advantage of for this trip. Will definitely book here again if I'm heading back to the festival in the next years, even with the price.
Great hotel right on the ski slope. An older style hotel and a little empty, but it was lovely nonetheless. We will happily be returning here next year. Large outdoor onsen and great breakfast every morning. I the staff were very friendly and shuttle was always able to take us into town. Our room was enormous by Japanese standards and view of the beginners ski run was great.
The location is excellent, only a short walk from the main train station. The resort offers a shuttle bus to pick you up from the station. The rooms are really spacious and well designed. The outdoor onsen was excellent. Other than the comment below the staff were efficient and there were many at hand.
You're as close to the ski slopes as humanly possible. Plenty of food options to choose from, all of which can be reached indoors. You can also rent your skis from within the hotel and have a locker right there to leave them at the end of the day. You can also buy your ski ticket right next to the locker room, again indoors. There are also a couple of convenience stores within the complex. Free shuttle to the train station is also helpful.
Experienced traditional Japanese hotel just few steps away from Echigo Yuzawa train station.
7-11 just across the road.
Used free shuttle to go to station.
Snow hill just behind the hotel.
Room is super spacious.
I love that most of the staff speaks good English, access to ski/snowboard/play land is really good. Shuttle bus are on time (but I think you should also mention in booking.com HOW TO BOOK SHUTTLE BUS) because some people don’t know how to..
