For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
Tracey was a brilliant host and the location of the site was excellent, a few minutes walk and you were in the town.
The site its self was spacious and secluded considering its position, within Pickering. through the trees you could see and hear the steam trains from the NYMR, sleeping in a Sheppard's hut accompanied by the music of the trains took us back to a bygone time. We will go back and stay there again.
Beautiful surroundings, comfy hut, and lots of cooking stuff provided for your stay. We didn't realise you had to bring our own bedding, but our host was lovely and brought us some across. Such peaceful surroundings and lovely walk into Pickering. Trains in and out were great to watch. Perfect for a getaway for two.
The location was next to the North York Moors Railway and Pickering beck in the centre of Pickering. perfect for the early departure @0920 to Whitby. The shepherds hut was very cosy and warm the only down side is that there was no coat hooks for hanging things and no reading lamp as there is no mains power just solar fairy lights but a battery operated bed head lamp would be ideal apart from that everything was as it says on the tin
