A stunning, comfortable chalet with everything you need. All clean, modern and beautifully decorated with lovely welcome gifts. The hosts Michaela and Kevin are so friendly and accommodating. I would say this is one of the best places we have stayed in In a lovely peaceful location. No car needed once arrived, so many walks around the area.We would not hesitate to recommend this place to stay. It is our pleasure to give great feedback,. Rosie's Barn, hotel in Penrith

Featuring mountain views, Rosie's Barn offers accommodation with a patio and a coffee machine, around 39 km from Derwentwater.

Loved the cosiness and feel of the place, perfect for a romantic weekend away. On top of this, this place was by far THE best and most well stocked cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I don't think we actually needed to bring anything with us aside from a change of clothes! Loved the bath on the first floor! The location was just stunning. We were even treated to some beautiful, sunny weather, which is a first for us. And finally, our kind host, who was so attentive and caring, even waiting for an additional 6 or so hours after the time we were supposed to have arrived there, courtesy of the dreaded M6 which was heavily congested and caused us to be massively late, and kept in communication with us the entire time throughout that ordeal. Truly a Saint!

Friendly staff, clean, well equipped park. The house had three bedrooms on the ground floor. One bedroom was en-suite, and a family bathroom was located on the same floor. The upper floor had a fully fitted kitchen, living / dining room with a large balcony. Speaking of the balcony, the views of the Ullswater lake were outstanding. The WiFi was excellent. The place is close to a local town Pooley Bridge for pubs and restaurants. Also, a bus service between Penrith and Windermere

All cabins in Penrith
Looking for a cabin?
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

Stayed in a chalet and loved it. It had everything you could need. Only issue we had was that the tv didn’t get very good reception but it didn’t hinder our stay.

The hotel and food were excellent but wish the bar had been open longer as when we left the pub we thought we could have drink in the hitel bar but it shut. We took a drink back up to our room.

Lovely peaceful location with lovely views. 2 Huts positioned so you still get privacy. Nice field for our dog (being mindful of occupants of other hut). Nice walk just up the road. As we were told, it took a couple of hours the first night for the wood fire to heat the hot tub. On the second night, it got hot quicker (in fact, it was too hot, and we had to add some cold water!). Comfortable bed and good shower, even had a hairdyer. 2 hobs and microwave were fine for our short stay.
