For active travelers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and with kitchen facilities, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found other places in the world. Characterized by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing vacations.
My room was really clean but it looked like it was being updated i had no bedside cabinets plugs were hard to plug in because cabinet was in way also cleaning staff were so noisy started knocking on doors double tap and then banging the doors I understand they have a job to do but was sooo noisy
Great room, lots of space for two small dogs and us, excellent food and drink in the bar/resturant, with a dog friendly loft. staff were attentive and polite throughout. Great stop off for eassy run to The Shuttle, saved loads of time.
- Full English breakfast was delicious in quaint pub which had so much character
- Loved that we were in our own independent cabin
- The room felt safe and cosy
- Love the name of the cabin
- Plenty of parking space
- Easy to access, right off the motorway so we could get on the road quickly in the morning
- Nice and friendly staff
Delightful stay at the windmill, located in a pretty little village. Excellent location as we picked up the motorway to folkestone for the shuttle to calais. Very nice freshly made breakfast, staff were extremely helpful carrying our heavy bags upstairs, they even filled our flasks with fresh coffee for journey onwards. Would definitely stay again. Parking was good at the back of the hotel. For anyone with a disability, check if there are rooms available without stairs.
Clean, and what we were looking for 20 mins from shuttle, within the services, no cafe or restaurant but not needed as was just 1 night before travelling home
Very comfortable beds, slept really well, good evening meal and very good breakfast. Even the coffee was great.!! Would highly recommend for an overnight en route to the shuttle. All the staff, from receptionist at check-in, waiting staff in restaurant (dinner & breakfast) to checkout staff were extremely friendly
The wooden chalets were comfortable and clean, it was very quaint to have your own private space away from the restaurant and bar, the winding pathways and lamps were lovely.
The bar / restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere, the food was great too. The staff were very friendly and made us and our two Golden Retrievers very welcome offering water and dog biscuits. We only stayed one night, but it was very enjoyable.
A beautiful character pub, with fabulous food and friendly staff. The accommodation is at the back of the pub - chalet/cabin style blocks. It is great that the accommodation is dog friendly! The only potential downside is that our room wouldn’t have been large enough to accommodate one of our dogs, so unfortunately we won’t be returning with a furry friend! This said, we would return for another one night stay while travelling, for the atmosphere in the pub and the food!
Great location. Friendly staff.
The rooms are arranged in little chalet cabins extending away from the old pub. They were quite sweet in their style and had been recently refurbished to a reasonable standard.
A good level of facilities within the room.
