Loved the cosiness and feel of the place, perfect for a romantic weekend away. On top of this, this place was by far THE best and most well stocked cottage we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I don't think we actually needed to bring anything with us aside from a change of clothes! Loved the bath on the first floor! The location was just stunning. We were even treated to some beautiful, sunny weather, which is a first for us. And finally, our kind host, who was so attentive and caring, even waiting for an additional 6 or so hours after the time we were supposed to have arrived there, courtesy of the dreaded M6 which was heavily congested and caused us to be massively late, and kept in communication with us the entire time throughout that ordeal. Truly a Saint!

The location was brilliant, the lodges being situated between the River Greta and banks of trees. The lodges themselves were almost a Nordic design, looked perfect inside and were well fitted out with some beautiful furniture, white goods and kitchen equipment. Money had not been spared anywhere and there was nothing extra we would have wanted for a week’s stay. All the staff we met were very friendly and super efficient.
Just 100 metres from the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, Lakeside Lodge is a 1-bedroom Cumbrian retreat 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Cockermouth.

We loved everything about this lodge. The owners were lovely, the lodge was perfect for a week away. It was clean, warm and everything we needed was available. The shower was incredible! And very comfortable bed too! Really nice welcome hamper when we arrived with local produce in and option to have breakfast if wanted. Tim and Karen gave us some great suggestions of walks and places to go in the local area. It is the perfect place for a peaceful break or holiday with beautiful scenery and nice long walks by the lake or on the fells. Lovely secure garden for the dog to enjoy and not have to be tied up like in most places we have been. We have already looked to book again for next year!
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
- Perfect little hut for a short stay

- Property owner friendly and happy to help with any questions at any time
The hut was brilliant and had everything in it that we could have needed. The location was perfect with stunning views which we were very lucky to make the most of due to the lovely weather.
The little extra’s left by the owners were very much appreciated and throughly enjoyed.
Stunning views. Beautiful farm. Loads of character. The hut was comfortable and cosy, perfect for a couple. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Facilities were spot on. You have everything you need. Will deffo be staying again.
Tutheren is within walking distance to Keswick. It is in a great location for hill walks/hikes, kayaking, climbing etc. Locally, there are a host of outdoor activities available. The cabin was warm and comfortable. A wonderful stay.
Great B&B and in a fantastic location of Portinscale. Clive and Caroline are very welcoming and I look forward to staying with them again in the future. Accommodation was great in the Shepherds Hut for a single person, they had thought of everything.
Lovely spacious huts set within beautiful surroundings. High quality finish that felt luxurious. Really close to popular lake districts towns such as Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere.
It's like a super cosy mountain cabin right in the centre of the town. The views from the apartment are wonderful, there are wooden beams, and excellent heating. The apartment is beautifully furnished, with all the luxuries that you could hope for.
