The room was well thought out and provided a good base for exploring the lakes

We loved everything about this lodge. The owners were lovely, the lodge was perfect for a week away. It was clean, warm and everything we needed was available. The shower was incredible! And very comfortable bed too! Really nice welcome hamper when we arrived with local produce in and option to have breakfast if wanted. Tim and Karen gave us some great suggestions of walks and places to go in the local area. It is the perfect place for a peaceful break or holiday with beautiful scenery and nice long walks by the lake or on the fells. Lovely secure garden for the dog to enjoy and not have to be tied up like in most places we have been. We have already looked to book again for next year!
Foxgloves and Ivy is set in Cockermouth, 20 km from Whinlatter Forest Park, 27 km from Cat Bells, as well as 50 km from Brougham Castle.

the caravan was very clean and cosy. the beds were comfy and we all slept very well . The closed in veranda was great for our dog. The location was perfect for visiting different areas in the Lakes. Philippa was very friendly and accommodating and makes lovely cakes!

Amazing value for money. Beautiful Lodge. Very clean and fully equipped with everything you could want. Central heating, tv with Prime and Netflix. Fantastic kitchen area with massive fridge freezer. In a good area for travelling around the lake district. You'll have no worries about staying here.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Setting near Bassenthwaite Lake in beautiful countryside with lovely walks. Good weather meant we enjoyed the pub gardens and the Inn was historic with character, little bars, and old wooden furniture. Not changed much in 300 years.
Lovely location, great breakfast, lovely room but spoilt by the noise from the guests above. Because of the wooden floor we could hear everything, even individual footsteps! Would stay at the farm again but not in this room. NO wifi at all, which is a shame as its advertised as having it.
