Excellent location with beautiful view on Tejeda and the mountains. Quiet dead end street at walking distance from the city center. Very spacious as well inside as outside.

-The historical Casa rural Bentayga is located on a superbly scenic hillside, and it is a great base camp for active hiking family holiday.
-Carmen is a very responsive and awesome host.
-The kitchenware is complete and great, including a very good barbecue/parilla on the terrace. Only minus is the lack of a dishwasher. Oven cannot be used at the same time as the induction stoves, but as there is a great gas barbecue, this did not make any difference to us.
-There are two good size private bedrooms with one having two 80*200 cm beds and another one having 140*200 cm beds, which are great. In addition, there is a 140*200 cm basic couch bed in the living room. The house is ideal for a family of 3-4 persons.
-Fresh fruits and (almond) specialties can be bought from La Culata and Tejeda.
-Good storage places for everything in rooms, kitchen and bathroom/toilet.
-Possibility to easily reach the house also by bus from Tejeda (which gives looping possibilities for hikes).
-Note in your day planning that on winter months, the sunny hours on the terrace are quite scarce as the sun is low behind the mountains quite a bit. Around New Year the sunny hours were from about 12.30 until 16.45. Then again much longer sunshine hours can be easily gained on nearby villages&hikes.
-The access road is steep and narrow, so a very big car can be a problem, and it's good to have some torque. (we had a small petrol engine car with no sensors and nevertheless managed, but it's not ideal)

The view was amazing. The most excellent part was - there were no surrounding neighborhood - just you and the mountains! The property is really good - we were there during the rather cold period but it wasn't a problem - the chalet has well operated heating system. There is a really nice well kept garden with lemon and avocado trees, palms... .

the house was in a quiet location yet it was easy to walk into the town. the house was clean, huge and airy. the kitchen was very well equipped (perhaps a baking dish is missing?). don’t miss the market (Friday to Sunday)!
we enjoyed the oranges and lemons that the owner had picked for us. the communication with the very kind owners and agency was good (though perhaps the meeting point to find the house could be located somewhere where there is parking- like by Dino supermarket?).
overall we had a really nice stay!

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
THE VIEW! The peace and quiet. Despite looking like military barracks or an old barn and facing the wind, the rooms were surprisingly warm and dry with comfortable beds. Laundry on the clothesline outside dries overnight ;) The common room gets even warmer from the fireplace (sometimes even too much so). The whole place is kept quite tidy.

A traditional Spanish house with modern interior but retaining wonderful Spanish wooden ceiling and shutters! The location is absolutely ideal. So convenient for bars and restaurants but not at all noisy.
This property had the right mix of space, light and location. Tremendously good use of the building. I would liken it to a ski lodge in as much as it inspired calm and rest….and gave the peace and positive solitude you can only get from the mountains….GO!
Thanks so much for such a wonderful time! The staff was super friendly and did their best to make everybody feel welcome and comfortable and spread good vibes. The view is amazing and the hostel is a perfect starting point for many hikes. Everything you need in a mountain cabin is offered. There are showers, hot water, blankets for the beds, you can order breakfast or dinner (which tastes really good) and coffee. I read quite some negative comments before my stay but at least in my case none of them turned out to be the case :)
The location was very quiet, little village in the mountains. Nice little hut, very cosy clean and comfy, all amenities included. Location is protected from the wind, so it was great to have breakfast at the table outside (although it was Jan). Nice open kitchen and comfy sofa in the living room. Ample storage space, a lot of towels provided, jacuzzi was a nice addition too! And last, but not least - Pablo was a great host, very responsive, provided recommendations about local restaurants, places to visit, etc.
World class view of the mountains around, perfect location and good food (latter: see comment below). Rather expect the comfort of a mountain hut than of a hostel.
