This was our first visit to Switzerland from the UK and we couldn’t have picked a better, or more beautiful place and house to stay in. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the location is EVERYTHING! Although you are right on the water at Brienz and people walk by, you still feel entirely private and so privileged to have the wonderful view.
Monique was the best host we’ve ever had and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this amazing home. Truly special!!!!

easy to find. host was quick to communicate. (always prefer someone to meet us with the key and that's the only reason 'staff' didn't get 10/10). clean and comfortable. excellent location to get to restaurants, boats, co-op, bank, info centre etc. view of the gorgeous lake from the window. ample paid parking nearby.

City Chalet was exceptional! We booked 4 apartments for our guests for our wedding. Everyone loved the apartments, they were the perfect size and great for such a big group of people.

Everything, including the location of the chalet and views. For the first in Europe, stay in the chalet felt like home from home. Overall experience was much better than I expected. We have enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the trains after we returned in the evening. Rebecca was the perfect host, and she has provided everything we need during our stay. The hut was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and a quiet place, complete with kitchen equipment and cleaning equipment. The owner of the hut was very kind and cooperative. She was interested in the smallest details, even though she was not in Switzerland. She was constantly communicating with me to make sure that everything was fine.

We felt like royalty. The breakfast spread was excellent and filled with choices for everyone. The view of the waterfall from our room felt like a dream. We were lulled to sleep. Bathroom was one of the cleanest we've seen. We also took a complimentary hotel shuttle to/from the train station to make it easy to travel with our bags. It's easy to take the funicular to the water taxi to get to interlaken ost and it's a great area to stay if you wish to hike around the waterfall area.
Authentic building, as long as I understand with several centuries of history, but looks and feels absolutely great, comfy and newish. Accomodation has a self check-in, check-out system, garden and big room with a fireplace to relax during rainy days. Owner and her assistant are both very friendly and willing to help, incredibly nice people. The chalet has guest parking and is located within 5 minutes from Brienz train station and lake promenade.
The apartment is very nice , just across the street is Lake Brienz .It's swiss chalet style The decaration is cozy ,feel comfortable. The kitchen is equiped with everything , microwave, oven ,fridge.
Parking is very easy ,2 lake car parks opposite the apartment and have lots of space .
There is coop supermarket nearby , Host is very nice .
It would have been 10 and perfect score if the heater didn’t shut off after the proprietor went to bed. I had it turned up to 5 (highest setting) and the radiator was cold all night. As soon as everything turned on in the morning the heater started working. I think perhaps there is a setting the owners control?
The lake view was amazing, the bed was comfy and the bath tub was a huge perk.
The breakfast was great and the cheeses were so good.

Location was great. A slight uphill from the station, less than 10 mins walk. Great view of the lake and quiet location. Breakfast was delicious and staff all very nice. Nicely renovated chalet. Brienz is a beautiful town.

The woman from Slovenia Kristena was very friendly and helpful,giving us lots of tips on what to do around Brienz and Interlaken area.

Room is cozy and clean. We booked an apartment with kitchen, it almost has everything - pan, cutlery, blender.
Hotel provides free shuttle for check in and check out only. But overall it’s not far from train station, around 15 min walking distance.
Overall, highly recommended!
We had a great time at Chalet mit Alpenambiente Axal - lot of space. Everything well equipped. Host was easy to reach via WhatsApp and always very helpful, giving us ideas of trips and restaurants and we had a very welcomed feeling.
Good location, quiet place in evenings, nice for feeling very relaxed. Great porch with place to seat and see the wonderful views. Shopping areas down in the town . Nice surroundings for trips and views of the beautiful lake
