Find the capsule hotels that appeal to you the most
Looking for a capsule hotel?
Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.
Handy location, walking distance to downtown (Parnell, Newmarket and Auckland CBD). Staff members (receptionists, housekeeping ladies, restaurant waiters/waitresses and even mechanics are very helpful and friendly. This has been the hotel that we would definitely stay whenever we visit Auckland. Laundry facilities and carpark are also very convenient. Great budget prices for rooms and very spacious. It makes you feel like home.
Not cheap, but that’s the cost of convenience in being able to walk out the door at stupid-o’clock and only take a short walk to the terminal for an early flight. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good standard buffet style, room was clean, well appointed and the sound proofing was perfect.
This hotel was conveniently located close to international airport clean Room and friendly staff. We had a room with a double bed and single bunk bed on top. The room was very very small there was no room for a table and chair. Overall a good stay for 1 night :)
Clean private pods with large locker included, clean bathrooms, and lots of comfortable communal areas to relax. Easy self check in/ out process. Friendly staff. Cool vending machines and guest discount at Miss Lucy’s.
The location was convenient and easy to find. Price fitted within my budget. The facilities in the room were exactly what I required and the staff were very friendly.
I really liked the atmosphere and the pod-beds were very comfortable. The kitchen sitting area was great and I had a few drinks at the attached bar which is actually very nice. Bathroom facilities were convenient. Sound proofing good.
Purposely booked Lylo since the website gave me those Japanese capsule hotel vibes and it did. In fact, I think it was fancier. I stayed at one in Japan and they were super efficient and although it was very comfortable, it felt a bit isolated as there was no common area to mingle with other people. What different with Lylo was, you get that efficiency and comfort, but you can also meet and mingle with other travelers if you prefer. Also love the quiet area!
