Find the capsule hotels that appeal to you the most
Looking for a capsule hotel?
Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.
The property was close to many beautiful beaches and attractions.
The host was really friendly and accommodating to our requests.
We stayed in a traditional Japanese room that came with Japanese breakfast which was really good! The overall experience was fantastic and we highly recommend this place 😊
Very nice family hotel, with good breakfast, amazing splash park, OK beach and good paid restaurants. Villas are set in a beautiful, well maintained garden, the service is japanese standard (veeeery good!), oh, and we loved the onsen! There's a free bus going to and from the airport (didn't know that, paid for the taxi there, it's not enough advertised!), there's also a bus stop in front of the hotel taking you to ishigaki town and Kabira bay (not very frequent, but punctual and cheap).
The room had a bunk bed, but it was build in and quite comfortable. The shared bathroom and shower have been clean. Staff was friendly and the common room and terrace upstairs were nice. We liked petting the cats.
The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. The location of the apartment has been very convenient for us. The beds are very comfortable. The room has an aircon, small fridge, small TV and a table with a chair. There is a common room equipped with a toaster, microwave, cutlery and plates which was very convenient. The apartment was clean and a parking lot for our car has been available. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck.
A beautiful and at the same time a very quiet location (2 min walk to the beach). Ideal for those who value privacy. Our room had a terrace, where we could dine and enjoy an amazing view of the sea. The accommodation was well-equipped with everything one needs, including a washing machine, which proved especially convenient after returning from the beach. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Quite liked this place, the communal area is open and bright, kitchen is stocked (spices and oil avalable, ask staff, no problem) stayed in a dorm, not capsule style. Nice staff, friendly, Okinawa style. During my stay there were mostly locals and hanging out was nice and made the experience cozy and friendly. Ishigaki is an awesome island, and this is a good base to explore it from. Close to the "downtown" area on foot, 8min walk, 16 min walk to the closest big supermarket. First bus stop 3 min walk.
Even though it is a cheap questhouse, it is clean. Very authentic Japanese. Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. 100yen laundry was good. There was also a dryer for 300yen but I did not need it. All long stay guests (30+ days) have their own shelf at a separate refrigerator. There is snorkelling equipment (mask, tube and fins) for cheap rent. A large manga library was free to read but just beyond my Japanese skill level.
* very convenient location: close to bus terminal and Port
* spacious rooms with enough space for luggage; lockers in good size.
* rooftop that is open 24/7
* discounts on marine activities
* using the washing machine is very cheap
* If you're looking for some quiet nights: the common area inside/kitchen are free to use until 11pm. Therefore after 11pm there is no noise when you're trying to sleep. You can still meet people on the rooftop though!
* friendly staff
