Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
The SS Homestay is a lovely little oasis of calm amongst the intense spirit of Varanasi. The room is very clean, private, and comfortable. Prashant and his family are incredibly friendly and hospitable. They are so attentive to the needs of the guest. As a huge bonus, the home-cooked Indian meals are cheap, wholesome, and delicious. I highly recommend SS Homestay.
Amazing accommodation. The owners are super professional, friendly and attentive. The whole appartment is very nice. Location is really convenient - somehow between ghats, Sarnath and airport and to reach any of them you can use an auto rickshaw or a taxi for a very cheap price. There's also a shopping centre nearby with a supermarket and restaurants. It was the only place on my journey in India where there was a silence at night.
