Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
the room was comfortable and very clean and the host wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining and the whole house reflected her personality. our breakfast was lovely. although I am ok at French the host is fluent in English.
