Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
Lovely location in the mountains. Garden aspect but views from the property. Spacious apartment, generally well equipped and comfortable. Friendly management.
Great location as long as you are dirving there. Beautiful and convenient place to stay with a bit of history. The Host was very helpful though he could (or would) not really communicate in English.
Excellent location for exploring all the attractions around Blankenberg. The hotel grounds have interesting features for children by day and cosy corners for adults to gather in the evening. Good food in the restaurant, reasonably priced. Extensive breakfast buffet with everything you could possibly want. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent value.

Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. The room and the bathroom were spacious, with a comfortable bed and a walk-in shower, and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for visiting the main attractions in Thale without having to use the car.
