Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
I had a wonderful stay at Casa di Gaia. Its central location is perfect for travelers passing through. The highlight of the stay was definitely Beth, the hostess. She is incredibly friendly, kind, and great company, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
I was in a 3 bed female-only dormitory. I like that the dorm rooms only have a few beds. For my stay there was no one else so I had the room to myself.
The location is amazing. Pedro (the man who looks after us) is lovely.
The location is perfect… in the best part of the city.
A washing machine was available but I didn’t use it.
Next to the beach, the hotel location is also super convenient regarding the main bus station of Porto Seguro and its airport, both at 15 minutes drive. The staff is very friendly and even organized transport for us. The pool is also very nice and the breakfast excellent.
I loved everything about the hotel. Very clean, friendly and professional staff. Very generous breakfast. Convenient and comfortable location. The room is extremely spacious … all very very good and it has exceed my expectations.
