Looking for a capsule hotel?
Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.

After a gruelling week and two long haul flights, it had everything functionally that I needed. It is a budget hotel. I only need a bed until convenient for travelling the last leg home. Luckily, I did prepare for food and mixers at airport, before walking 7 mins to hotel. (Only option at hotel was vending machine.) It was perfect for what I needed. Not a holiday destination.

Ibis Budget Melbourne is very close to the airport, an easy walk for an early morning flight. Breakfast is plain continental and there is a vending machine for snacks. It is exactly as advertised, a budget hotel, clean and friendly and very convenient.I enjoyed my stay, thank you.

The location was convenient because it was in the CBD area and right in front of a tram stop. The staff were helpful, and when I checked in, they were very welcoming. The bar in the same building had a nice atmosphere, but I didn't eat or drink there, so I can't really say anything else about it. The rooftop cafe was nice, and the staff there were super friendly and I had a great chat with them. The cheap brekkie was also nice. Nicely renovated bathrooms on my floor. Cool murals on floors.

Location is super convenient. The rooms were surprisingly very well sound proofed and the room stayed nice and dark when having a sleep in. Aircon works great. Staff were all super friendly and accomodating.
