Well set up with a solar powered charging point for devices etc and with barbecue facilities. We loved the outdoor bathtub, hammock and swing area. The compost toilet was very clean. Overall a great experience.

The campground has a hot tub and bicycle parking. Stella the Excella is a fabulous base in Russell. We loved the quirkiness of the trailer and all the retro facilities and colours - you really feel you're back in the 50s. The bed was very comfortable and the separate bathroom was more than adequate. The outside decking was spacious and a great place to sit back and relax and if you're lucky (as we were) spot kiwi in the garden below. The centre of Russell is about a 15/20 minute walk away though we were lazy and took the car as the trailer is situated at the top of a steep hill. We spent five weeks in NZ and Stella was definitely in the Top 3 of the places we stayed.

Guests at the campground will be able to enjoy activities in and around Tapu, like cycling. Kiwi Cabins has a picnic area and a barbecue. We went fishing on a charter boat. Less than a minute drive from our location to where we caught our boat. Accommodation was excellent. Facilities were clean and had everything we needed. Shared Shower and toilet facilities but was very clean. Owner super helpful and friendly. Not a problem taking our own bedding.

A bonus really appreciated was the electrical grill outside.
