Isuru was an amazing host -- he is kind and helpful. He would check in on us to be sure we had what we needed, and then leave us to enjoy the peace of the beautiful home. The food was amazing. The five curries for dinner was our favorite, and ended up being our favorite meal of our whole Sri Lanka trip. The breakfasts were also lovely, with homemade Sri Lankan pancakes, omelettes, and really fresh fruit. The cottage is in a very peaceful area, so relaxing to be in the middle of the jungle. We were thrilled to see peacocks out back one morning. The cottage is simple, but just as expected -- basic bathroom with shower, bottled water provided, really comfortable bed. We loved waking up to the view of the trees outside.

The campground is a 30-minute drive from the main entrance of the park and a 45-minute drive from the Elephant transit home. Colombo is approximately 101 mi away while Bandaranaike International Airport is 111 mi from the airport. The place was really awesome. We had a great time with family.
