Incredible value for money - right on the beach, aircon worked superbly in the yurt and the vegan option for the BBQ dinner was so good we ate there both nights!
Very clean Great location
I really enjoyed my stay in one of the campervans. The location is amazing, right by the beach - where you can swim - and within walking distance of Naoshima's great museums. There is a convenient bus stop right in front of Tsutsujiso with buses going to the museums and a bus going to both ports on the island. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There are vending machines that sell sweet breads (with fillings) and frozen bento, but it may be better to bring some foods from the coop in one of the port towns before you arrive.
We had a wonderful experience staying at Tsutsujiso. We had a yurt all by ourselves facing the beach. We could hear the sound of the waves during our sleep. The barbecue was a hit ! I would definitely come back.
What a unique experience, right on the beach looking overlooking the yellow pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama!! The bbq dinner on site was recommended to us by hotel staff as there’s not much open in the evenings and I highly recommend it. It was super unique and a nice way to enjoy the campsite, we told them we were vegetarian which was no issue, we didn’t feel like we were missing out because we were given so many vegetables and tofu types to grill. The private bath was also a fun authentic experience they offer.
I didn't realise I was booking a caravan when I chose "1 room" BUT! I was pleasantly surprised to be staying in a cute little trailer by the sea with gorgeous views and very helpfully located right at the location of local bus and shuttle! 2 min walk from Kusama's yellow pumpkin! They provide bedding etc in the camper van however toilet is a fair walk away as well as showers. They are all very clean! Dinner at their local restaurant was also delicious!
Very clean and in a quiet but convenient location. Great value. We loved the okonomiyaki restaurant around the corner. It is actually the only place open on Sunday! There is no convenience store nearby so make sure to stock up on any essentials before you come.
The location right on the beach and 200metres from Kusama’s Yellow Pumpkin. We had Tent Number 1 which has a fabulous view of the sea. The tent is large with four single comfortable beds, clean linen, electricity, lots of charm. The evening barbecue was traditional and fun.
Amazing location for a really special stay. It was so nice to stay just by the beach. The campsite is also right by the bus stop from the main port so was really easy for me and my heavy luggage. Super close to the galleries too. You can also see the yellow pumpkin from the site! Staff were all really friendly. The caravan was surprisingly comfy and I slept really well. obviously it is small but that is to be expected so bear in mind if you are tall.
The room was actually bigger than I expected, so that was a very welcome surprise. Everything was very clean and organized in the room. The whole property basically felt like someone's home converted into a small guesthouse with each floor being its own room, so it felt cozy. The place itself is close to one of the local train stations, so it's convenient for traveling. There's also a shopping street and a few convenience stores close by too. The host was not usually at the property itself but was reachable by phone.
