Beautifully located in the middle of the forest (but close by other lodges so not scary). A 10 minute drive from the Slieve Russel hotel which is great for a nice lunch. The cabin is really cosy and homely and clean. The phone coverage is patchy meaning lots of great conversation without distraction.

The staff overall were so friendly and helpful. The bedroom was spotless and comfortable and the spa facilities were also very clean and not too crowded.
Paulie is lovely host. House and room are very clean, beds are comfortable, room was spacious. Room had own kettle, tea, sweet bars and bottles of water. Breakfasts are delicious served in dining room with beautiful lake view. House has good locaation for 1 hour trips to scenic walks, beaches and UK. We were happy we booked our stay in Hathorn Lodge.
