We loved the brand new lodge, very stylish and modern, with all the things needed for an enjoyable stay. The huge veranda was lovely to spend an evening on, and shelter from the midday sun. The site, on the edge of the river, was welcoming, and a huge hit with other families, with children being able to wander around without the worry of cars, as they are not allowed near the lodges. Much of the site is wild meadow, with the local college students having designed it for environmental reasons. The pool was warm and inviting and not too busy. In the evenings the site was quiet, thanks to a no late noise rule. There is a small shop and bar on site, with a weekly disco or band and afternoon activities for little ones. There is also a playground adjacent. We had a problem with our shower, but a member of staff came to fix it straight away. Just a short, uphill walk away is the locals town, with shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. It was nice not to have to use the car all the time. We’ll definitely be booking again next year.
