Enjoy the great outdoors at a campground or RV park. Sleep under the stars in a cabin or bungalow, pre-pitched tent, RV, or caravan. Communal kitchens, bathrooms, and recreational facilities are available, and most campsites will have a reception desk.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is good and overall the environment is comfortable. Plenty of restaurants and convenience store around the hotel, and the staff also provide sufficient guidance around the area.
I had a perfect stay at Fairfield! Very clean hotel with a good room area and decor. It's next to a food court and onsen - which is amazing - and the hotel provides you with a discount to enjoy its warm baths. It is about 15 min drive away from Gujo-Hachiman and 5 min away from a train station ( if you are not by car ). Highlt recommended, one of the best hotels I have been to in Japan with a good price / quality relation.
Love the modern + Japanese minimalist room design. Very clean and new room. There are free coffee/drinks and ice machine at the lobby. There are also vending machines and washing machines for hire. Though they do not have an onsen in the hotel, but they have a public onsen just few minutes walk away. There is also a morning market if you wanna grab a breakfast after checking out.
The room overlooked the river and the sound of water rushing by below the window made for a very pleasant sleep. All of the facilities and amenities were very clean and the host was pleasant with good English. Very close to lots of eateries, including a vegetarian cafe just across the river. The walk up to Hachiman Castle is about 10-15 minutes and provides great views of the valley.
It's a nice 1970s style house with a spacious living room with a high ceiling and a very large wooden veranda where you can have a BBQ and eat outdoors.
The bedroom has traditional Japanese mats and sliding door.
The host was very nice- she set up our barbecue, gave us hot breakfast and was nice to our kids.
The area nearby is natural and has forests with wild animals, a clean river and the Gero hot spring is also nearby..
The location was superb. The ryokan was along the river and a few minutes walk from the bus stop. Breakfast was great! Though the ryokan is old, it was very clean and the room was more spacious than expected.
