What an absolute gem in a stunning setting! This was absolutely everything and my only complaint is that I didn’t have time to stay longer and soak up the magic of the Welsh countryside! So beautiful, so peaceful! I arrived around 10pm and despite it being dark out the directions were so clear and the setup of the location so well done that I had no trouble at all find my pod and seating in for the night. What a dream, cannot wait to come back!

Y Nyth - The nest, hotel in Port Talbot

Y Nyth - The nest is located in Bridgend, just 18 miles from Grand Theater and 23 miles from Cardiff University. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking, and free Wifi.

Despite the terrible weather outside and visiting in late November, the pod was really warm and we could unwind. The host seemed lovely and she was quite helpful. The pod was extremely relaxing and cosy, and it was dog friendly. The campsite was very quiet, and we had loads of privacy. Nobody bothered us. There were multiple hiking trails nearby that we could take with our dog. The pod was clean and had all the amenities we needed in a room. They supplied us with multiple board games we could play. We liked the fact that there was some nature around, but it was close enough to the city to e.g. order a takeaway and comfortably commute without a car.

We had a really amazing stay! With the house being only a minute from the beach, and the weather being so nice it was like being on a sunny beach holiday abroad. The house was very clean, and the beds were very comfy. Fiona the host was really helpful and kind, and she recommended some great things to do around the local area and helped with any quieres me & my wife had. We can't wait to come back!

Lovely house, very clean, excellent welcome pack. We found it ideal for a long weekend visiting family near by. The views of the bay are beautiful and the beach is spotless. Plenty of space for 5 adults/teens and dog. Comfy beds and plenty of towels. We didn't have great weather so appreciated the selection of games when we didn't want to go out. Conveniently close to M4 makes it a great base.

Great location up in the hills above Port Talbot. The lodge is at the start of the mountain bike trails and is popular with groups, with a bunk house, glamping and camping. I had a room in the lodge which was very comfortable and clean, giving a wonderful night's sleep. All the staff were very friendly. Food is served at the weekends in the cafe, good hearty outdoorsy food. This isn't a grand hotel and you shouldn't expect it but the location is unbeatable and the staff make you very welcome.
