Our mini moon break straight from getting married and what a great choice we made. The perfect location for a family with young children, the park and beach a stone’s throw away. We had great weather too. The home was spacious and modern with amazing views and sunsets to see. We requested two travel cots in the accommodation and these looked brand new and like they had never been used! Great communication with fast response from Chad and family, both prior and during our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
Good location, our room was upgraded to a suite which was nice. Comfy bed and hot shower.
Our room was a generous size with a good sized bed, which was comfortable. There were blackout curtains so got a good sleep. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower. We had a patio table and chairs to sit out in evening to watch the sunset. There was a great view of the lake from both the restaurant and bar area. The hotel was a short drive to Bowness on Windermere.
We stayed in one of the new outside cabins with hot tub. This is the 5th stay over the years and not much has changed other than some new accommodation blocks. The new cabins are lovely, over looking farm fields and we saw lots of wildlife including a barn owl. The food is excellent and well priced. Really good choice and seasonal ingredients. Don't expect a plush 4* hotel. Damson Dene is not so refined but an excellent base in the Lake District far enough away from the hustle and bustle.
Beautiful cottage with a secure car park. Less than 10 mins from South Lakes Safari. The pictures don't do this property justice. It's huge with a beautiful fire place. Both bedrooms are very large and comfortable. There is also a large back garden. We would definitely stay here again.
Great breakfasts, friendly owner, comfortable bed, good hot shower, fantastic value for money.
We’ve stayed here before so knew it. It’s basic but it’s a comfortable place to stay. We slept really well despite the noise others have complained about ( it takes more than a distant bass boom to stop me sleeping!). Good powerful hot shower as well - always appreciated. Staff are lovely too
Great place to stay, We were going to the safari zoo so this was ideally located, very friendly and helpful staff
Breakfast was very good! Plenty of shops around the area to keep you busy in the day. We went to a wildlife safari park which was around 10 minutes drive away which our son really enjoyed. and there is a leisure centre around 5 minutes drive away where you can go for a swim.
