For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
This place is defined by its location on the edge of the desert. The room was functional, sparcely decorated, with surprisingly good a/c and wifi. The bathroom was rather crude. The breakfast was good and served at 7 a.m. to fit in with the 4.30-6.30 a.m. camel ride. The owner was charming (he got up to make sure we got on the camels at 4.30 a.m.) There are two camels to pet (though those were not the ones we rode).
The place seems wonderful to me; it is truly in the desert. I didn't have high expectations for this place and I was greatly surprised. It is a place that has little, but many details if you really observe. The room I stayed in had everything, it was clean, and it had great decoration. Mohamed (I’m not sure if I’m spelling his name correctly) was excellent, he helped us with some activities in the desert, and he is a very friendly person. Additionally, there are two ducks and a rooster that brightened my visit. The breakfast was simple.
It was a lovely stay, the location is isolated and quiet, the last house before the desert, so to some it s a good thing, to others is not. We enjoyed beeing close to nature. Mohamed is a lovely host and ha can arrange private camel rides and 4x4 in the desert at very good prices. We did both and loved it and I recomend you do the same, the experience is really really good.
Camp Mars is a must go if you wanna experience the desert and you dont have time for a big tour. The views are stunning and it is a truly unique experience. If you ask yourself how long you should stay: 1night is enough! We also did a short camel ride there which was very nice.
Amazing place very close to the desert. Lovely hosts and staff. We enjoyed the home made dinner. Very comfy and top facilities (A/C, wi-fi, hot running water, etc.).
Incredible place in the middle of desert. Very good dinner and camel riding in the sand - super nice! And the evening bread ritual around the fire was very beautiful. Very friendly people.
The location is just beautiful and peaceful, literally at the gate of the desert. The Maison has a small rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the sunset or just the calm. The host is very nice and helpful
We loved the location, right at the edge of the desert dunes. Staff were really friendly and helpful at organising a camel ride for the kids and a sunset 4x4 trip. Dinner on the first night was delicious.
The food is delicious, diverse and well presented! The staff is very welcoming and friendly! The rooms are very clean with cleanness on a daily basis. I enjoyed walking until the "Gate of the Desert" place till sunset (where the annual Festival takes place). Wonderful place to visit, whether alone, couples, or even in groups!
