For travelers who love being in nature with some added luxury. Also known as glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, surrounded by wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it and stay glamorous.
Jose and Pilar are absolute gems. I stayed with them for three nights over Christmas, and they welcomed me as if I was a part of their own family. They allowed me, and the other guests, to partake in all their usual traditions, to eat with their extended family, sing and dance. The food was amazing and healthy, to the extent that there was no way to leave the table even slightly hungry. The rooms had everything you'd need, including a hot shower.
Very beautiful home with a very nice, sweet and caring family. Immediately feels like being home. Hot shower, good food, very clean. Would love to stay again.
typical stay plus all comfort
very welcoming and helpful host family
amazing local food
nice sitting area with lake view
hot shower and cozy heated room
in a small village outside from the main center which is too touristy
worth staying more then one just night
Very welcoming and livery family! Comfy clean room with amazing view. You get amazing food with them and they show you nice lookouts on the island for the sunset. Definitely recommend it to go!
The stay with Richard, Lucrecia, and Isabel was lovely. They really made us feel part of their family. The food was one of the best we had in Peru. Richard went hiking and fishing with us and always took care of us. Also, they have a heating in the living room, a hot shower, and a clean bathroom. The view on the Titicaca Lake from the room is awesome. I recommend opening the curtain at 5:30 for the best light before sunrise. The daughter Isabel is so cute and loved to play cards with us. We highly recommend staying with Richard and his family!
We can not recommend enough Jose Luis and his family! We went on Amantani with a tour boat but didn't want to do the regular homestay as all the tourist do, so instead we booked Tikawasi. The best decision ever! The family immediatelly accepted us as one of their own. The location is very calm and magic, beautiful terrace for sunset watching. Rooms are brand new and beds very cozy. We are thankful to the family to make our stay in Amantani so memorable.
This was our best stay in Peru! The family is amazing - super friendly and loving. The place is super clean and quite. We had a amazing view on the lake. Hot shower is guaranteed!
There’s no cars, motorbike or street dogs making noise!
We would have loved to get to known the family and their culture better, but our Spanish is very basic.
Also the food is super delicious! They adjust to your diet - in case your vegan or vegetarian.
We highly recommend to visit this place to learn more about authentic life on Amantani Island!
