Our stay at the Nomadic Desert Camp in Oman was truly exceptional, and we would confidently rate it as a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and a welcoming host; Humied who owned the camp, he made us feel right at home. He was genuinely friendly, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and memorable.
The camp offers a tranquil escape, perfect for those looking to connect with nature. The food was delicious, with traditional flavors that added to the authenticity of our experience. One of the highlights was watching the breathtaking sunset over the dunes—a sight that will stay with us for a long time.
We also had the opportunity to drive through the desert in our 4x4, following an experienced guide, which added an element of adventure to our stay. Riding camels was another memorable activity that brought us closer to the rich culture and beauty of the region.
Our family had an amazing time, truly bonding and appreciating the serene surroundings. The camp is small and well into the desert, the tents are spaced between each other and allow privacy. They are comfortable and very clean. The camp is well maintained. The food excellent and all activities well organised. We loved everything and thank Faiz and Ali from our heart for the wonderful stay.

Rashid and his team are simply the best! It starts at the meeting point where they prepared our car for the sand driving, gave us the instructions and it was easy to reach the camp. It has only 5 tents and it’s far in the dunes! The tent is spacious with very comfortable bed and bathroom with all you need. It is all very clean. They welcomed us with tea and coffee. The sunset was beautiful , you don’t need to go far from the camp and you feel like alone in the universe. The dinner was delicious and after they made a fire, we sat around and they sing and dance! After they drove us to see scorpions at night and after we enjoyed the stars and the quietness of the desert. Next day after breakfast they took us back and we spent just perfect day in the desert with Rashid who is an excellent host. Thank you!

All was splendid
It starts with the place location, slightly further than most other camps, you will stay on top of a dune with a breath taking view on the forever sand desert.
Then the tent is luxurious, it is large, the beds are huge and the sheet are better than your home ones.
The bed is so confortable, we might have the best night.
Finally the dinner food was tasteful.

Everything here was great. The tent was big and clean, the breakfast and dinner were various and delicious, and the staff were friendly as well. Amazing Omani welcome from Saud and his family. A stunning location with spotlessly clean and comfortable tents, with crisp linen and beautiful interior decoration. Delicious and plentiful buffet dinner taken in a traditional Omani tent setting, then sitting beside an open fire under the stars. This is a must visit location for anyone wanting to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the desert. And very fair value for money considering the amenities and warm hospitality. Don't miss the sunset!
Nice small scale camp in the desert, only 6 tents. Very nice staff providing good service and friendly host. It is very magical to walk up the dunes and look at the sunset or sunrise. We enjoyed it very much, thank you!
It might be good to know that pick up can be arranged for an extra charge from a meetingpoint (we were glad we did this as there are no signs to the camp). Also the dinner is not included in the price, however the food was very nice, so recommended!
Had a great stay here! Lovely hosts and very peaceful in the desert. The tents are cosy! In the evening we ran up the dune behind the camp for a gorgeous sunset. Did the same again for sunrise. Can 100% recommend staying here.
Exceptional stay with even greater hosts. The camp is quiet, clean and serene. Located at the top of the dunes making sunsets and sunrises particularly accesible. The tents were made for a good nights sleep the authentic food was a treat. Fayez and the team made us feel at home. We will be back! Definitely the camp of choice if looking for a calm desert stay.
Everything was just wonderful: very friendly and professional staff, delicious food, good location, comfortable tents, well organised and interesting activities (sunset dune bashing, sunrise camel riding ...etc.).Sunrise Desert Local Private Camp is a highly recommended option to enjoy some quality time at the Wahiba Sands.
I can really recommend this desert camp!! Very nice location, next to the dunes to watch the sunset and sunrise. As it was only a few tents, it was very personal and did not feel touristy:) in the camp, we met other great people, it attracted some solo travelers and likeminded people I guess. Everyone was very happy with our choice for the camp: basic but not too commercialized and beautiful location. Value for money was great!
Very accommodating and helpful staff. The camp is quite close from the city, which makes it easily accessible with 4WD car, while still being far enough to feel the desert vibe. The tents are comfortable and clean. Food was great (we had diner and breakfast). I also recommend going for dune bashing with sunset. All in all, good value for money 🙂

The placement is in the middle of the desert, the camp is quiet and clean, the activities (tour of the desert + sunset) are enjoyable. The food is very very tasty (we had vegetarian) and you can always have water, coffee, tea and dates.
The stars and the sunrise were also a unique moment.
This experience was the best you could ask for.
And the little tents where you sleep at night make for a little adventure (be dressed well).
