Pros - Omar is an amazing host. We took the 4x4 option and Omar went out of his way in driving through the dunes and giving an amazing experience. The dinner was really good. Omar and his staff even put an additional bed outside the tent for us to star gaze. And we did see a lot of stars with a clear view.

It was quite a unique experience: traditional desert huts with comfortable beds and bedding. The most important aspect was the location on the dunes, relaxing spots, hammocks, and delicious food.

Had a wonderful experience at Gambi camp! A far more authentic experience than staying in a roadside luxury desert camp.
Gambi was super hospitable and friendly, he even walked us up to the top of one of the dunes to watch the stars in the evening. He has a bubbly personality and was easy to talk to.
The food 👌🏻 delicious! And so much of it. We even had some wine with our meal which was not expected.
The location of the camp is further into the desert right next to a huge sand dune so you really feel like you’re deep in the desert. The moon was shining bright so we didn’t see so many stars in the evening but I got up early in the morning and it was stunning; stars as far as you could see.
Would highly recommend this place to other people who would like to enjoy a less “touristic” experience and have some peace out in the desert. Would love to come back and sleep on the sand under the stars next time.

The camp was as beautiful in person as in the pictures. Our driver to the camp, Mustafa, is so kind and made us feel welcome. Everyone at the camp is just as nice and welcoming. The camel ride to see the sunset was an unforgettable experience. There was a lot of good food for dinner and there was music and dancing after. It was truly an awesome experience - highly recommended!

When we checked in, they told us we have to stay at nomadica luxury tent - this is owned by the same owner and is in the same camp ground. It had a heater but it was 1/3 the size if erg chebbi tent which didn’t have a heater. They also told us we can’t hang around the camp ground if we stay at erg chebbi tent as it’s been booked by a big group (this was nonsense as the same camp ground is shared between the two tents and there’s no reason why we couldn’t hang out at the common restaurant or camp ground. We felt strong armed into changing tents but because it had a heater in the freezing winter, we agreed.
The nomadica/nomad luxury tent itself was comfortable - heater worked properly, bed was comfortable and the facility was really good. No complaints about comfort and accommodation. They also let us do a slightly late checkout (an hour or so). The staff at the camp itself is good and helpful.

Dar Duna has a tastefully furnished interior and we enjoyed the dreamy and calm atmosphere. The breakfast was tasty and plenty. Room climate is good and rooms are superclean. The staff is amazing: Abdul was relaxed, friendly, and so helpful. We could get a lot of information in the short time we were staying and he organized two last minute trips for us (one to the Souk with lovely Ibrahim and one with a camel ride to their desert camp) which were really great! we‘d definitely book a room again if we stay in Merzouga the next time!
