For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
Big apartments, nice community areas to get in contact with other travellers, confortable beds with patent mosquito nets, high degree of safety with friendly security men, altogether good price for a decent accomodation
Friendly, helpful staff.
Spacious - the ensuite, bedroom and private balcony were all plenty big enough.
The breakfast was nice, with a couple of different options.
Mosquito nets for the beds.
Close to the museum and bus station, fairly close to the main shopping strip, beaches and impala sanctuary.
Very safe neighbourhood.
Nice place to stay, greenery all around, peaceful and calm.
Hosts were open and welcoming.
Basic essentials were provided.
Instant hot shower available
I booked a dorm bed and fortunately got the entire room to myself. Mosquito net was there but quite difficult to get full coverage around. Shower had hot water and was generally quite pleasant. Location was a bit hard to reach by boda because of the road quality, but if you can take a matatu, it's quite affordable. Some nice places to eat just on the main street about a 10-15 min walk from the hostel. Staff were quite helpful and let me store my bags there after I checked out and would answer my questions.
There is a mosquito net around the bed, which is essential. There are simply too many bugs around, especially at night.
Staff are very helpful, and they also recommended a very responsible taxi driver.
It’s just few minutes away from Impala Park. Could easily walk there.
A great home in a quiet neighborhood. Clean and modern throughout. Comfortable rooms and great beds and hot showers. They even prepared the most delicious meals (seriously delicious) for the team. We had use of the central living space and the veranda as well. The family was also here with us but were not at all intrusive, very kind. Absolutely do it again!
amazing view on lake Victoria and Kisumu town. The Staff is very kind and helped me to organize a few things. The room was small but the bed has a mosquito net and you want to stay outside anyways. it would be amazing to get some hammocks to chill in.
