For travelers who love being in nature with some added luxury. Also known as glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, surrounded by wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it and stay glamorous.
It's a nice 1970s style house with a spacious living room with a high ceiling and a very large wooden veranda where you can have a BBQ and eat outdoors.
The bedroom has traditional Japanese mats and sliding door.
The host was very nice- she set up our barbecue, gave us hot breakfast and was nice to our kids.
The area nearby is natural and has forests with wild animals, a clean river and the Gero hot spring is also nearby..
I absolutely loved staying in this traditional guesthouse. The couple running the ryokan were very warm and helpful. The meals included were magnificent. It is located in the best part of town AND the view from my room.... incredible! I spent sunset looking out from my balcony over the river below.
