A grand old hotel with lots of charm right in the heart of Colchester. The reception staff were super helpful and friendly and the room was lovely with a comfy bed and hot shower. The breakfast was absolutely delicious.
The cottage was absolutely perfect, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need. Very cosy and quiet, lots of wildlife around which is a pleasure to watch on a warm sunny evening. The grounds of the manor house are breathtaking and well worth looking around. Some of the pathways are uneven but what do expect from a mature 17th century garden! I would not hesitate to return.
The hotel was clean and very nicely decorated. The room was the same, a nice hot shower. Plenty of tea coffee and biscuits. Staff really friendly, the general manager was superb and very helpful.
Just off the High St and I'm pleased. It was minutes away but quiet on a Saturday night when the high street was really busy and noisy.
Continental breakfast was lovely and fresh. A very wide range of cereals fruits meats and cheeses as well as pastries and yogurts. Coffee was really nice too.
Fantastic find, I just needed a clean room and a hot shower, but this hotel has so much more to offer. Next stay I will make sure I have a little more time to enjoy the facilities.
The hut was so comfy, cosy and clean! It was the perfect little romantic getaway. We absolutely loved the hot tub and all the lovely intricate details around the place like the Christmas decorations, pond and it was also the perfect spot for sunset. Heather was a great and very helpful host. Would definitely come again!
