For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
The staff and especially the owner were really really friendly and helpful. We really felt comfortable and welcomed here. There's easy access to restaurants, the beach, airport and wildlife. Would definitely come back here.
Spacious rooms and kitchen with various tools, aircondition, space to clean and dry wet clothes. The neighbor Mr Rafael living behind the house was extremely kind and allowed us to visit the adjacent forest full of wildlife, and other neighbours fixed a flat tire of our car in no time. Very nice community.
The property was spread over a large piece of jungle with the swimming pool and restaurante at the top overlooking the Bay of Golfito; the everyday wildlife consisted of squirrel monkeys, green parrots and scarlet macaws and sloths were in residence…. The house (no 8) was a nice size and the kitchen and rooms well fitted out. The houses, 7,8,9 and 10 were built fairly close to each other with No 10 having the best outlook of them all. Having said that the views from the balconies were phenomenal.
Beautiful peaceful natural setting with lots of wildlife using the site freely
Comfortable, smart and well planned private and shared spaces
Interesting excursions, some included in the accommodation price
Excellent food choices and quality, including for vegetarians
Helpful, welcoming staff
Eco approach to most aspects of the stay
It was nice to have the whole house for ourselves. There is a back garden where you can see lots of beautiful birds. There is a hammock to relax on.There is a washing machine. The place is clean. Juicer, coffee maker, microwave, pots and pans for cooking .It is located next to cafes, the marina/beach etc.the owner lives opposite and although we didn't need anything, they are happy to help
Very friendly and helpful hosts. Great location, within short walking distance to the shops and restaurants, but still surrounded by wildlife. We had macaws, iguanas, squirrels on the trees, next to our balcony. We stayed in the upstairs rancho. Beautiful room, very clean. Amazing experience
Location of Albergue La Laguna is great for nature and bird lovers. Lodge is quite simple but beds were comfy, clean and there were no insects in our rooms. Lodge is surrounded by nature - lagoon, forest, meadows. There are only 4 rooms and there is huge space with hammocks, tables, armchairs to relax. Staff was very friendly and they offered tasty breakfast at reasonable price. It was one of 2-3 greatest accomodation during our month stay in Costa Rica. Remote and 4x4 car access only!
Very spacious 2-story house. Ground floor has bathroom (hot shower) and kitchen, and seating area, and washing machine. First floor very large bedroom and balcony with view of garden. Main bed is covered in mosquito nets, very convenient. Owner is very friendly and helpful, lives in the house next door. She really made an extra effort before our arrival with flowers and fruits in the house. We felt really welcome.
Location is good, on the edge of town, so really quiet. Still only a 5 min walk to the main street.
1. Location is beautiful. In the middle of nature. Wild beach. Greenery. Aras everywhere. Beautiful garden even if you might see less wildlife there (though many birds, iguanas, crabs ..)
2. Recommend the club room with beach view. Beautiful sunsets and sunrise.
3. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
4. Responsive communication ahead of the trip (which I have found not to be common in Costa Rica)
5. Owners are on site also check-in with you to make sure everything is ok. It adds to the feeling that there is a responsible person on site.
