Amazing location. Friendly and helpful staff. Seems to be a family run place. Had great service on check in from Arbur. Exceptional value for money. Worth the money for location alone. For a campground, good facilites. Excellent wifi. Stunning beach. Beautiful blue water. Nice soft white stones.
For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
The breakfast was delicious, the staff were attentive and generous and parked our car for us (tricky roads), the room was very comfortable and spacious, the bathroom was spotless, we were able to leave our bags whilst we explored Gjirokaster, and the local wildlife was adorable!
Hotel is very quaint and located inside the castle grounds which is great for one night
Room was a bit small but was fine for 2 people
Bed was clean and comfortable
Great breakfast spot and was also good for dinner with excellent sunset views
Konaku guesthouse is very close to the castle and close to the top of the hill. There are stunning views from the veranda of the guesthouse (where you'd have breakfast/drinks). The guesthouse is a traditional house and it is an absolute experience to stay in an original room. Our host was absolutely lovely and helped guests with parking (it is on a hill).
Wonderful homestay with a tent on the terrace, a hammock with a beautiful view on the valley, bathroom facilities and a little refrigerator. The host Tina is an amazing person! She makes the best breakfast, fresh from the garden. We talked and laughed together. We felt at home. It is situated in a calm neighbourhood. The castle is very near, about 15 min walk max. Her son speaks English and helps out as well.
Our stay in this guest house was incredible - it's well situated, with clean, comfortable rooms and a beautiful view over the city (particularly at sunset). The family are also all wonderful people: the grandmother cooked us a wonderful Albanian dinner, our host offered to drive us to the bus station, and every interaction was full of warmth and kindness. I recommend this guest house very strongly, and will absolutely come back!
Tina was a wonderful host. immedietly felt like we were staying at a friends house. she welcomed us with a drink. made sure if anything we need she was there to help. and the BREAKFEST oh wow oh wow
Location is beautiful (great for stargazing(there's sun beds)) and okay distance wise, use the tunnel that goes under the castle!
The location of the Three Barrels is just lovely. An idyllic setting amongst the vineyard and a nice short distance from Gjirokastra. I would highly recommend a stay here. Marsel and Ada and their family are lovely hosts. The food is superb as is the wine. The chocolate deserts from Ada deserve a special mention ! They have both made great efforts to make the accommodation very comfortable, modern and exceptionally clean so it is definitely worth considering for anyone wishing to stay in the area
The hotel is perfect blend of the old and the new. Great views and location. A favourite moment for me was the breakfast we had on the small veranda surrounded by stunning views of mountains and the traditional houses of Gjirokastra.
The breakfast was truly exceptional. We were treated with an array of traditional Albanian and continental foods as well as orange juice and coffee. We ate on the veranda in the morning sun - would highly recommend for this alone! The most expensive place we stayed, but well worth it - a luxurious feel and lovely furniture in the rooms, as well as being in a stone building so a bit cooler! Great location in the central old town
Incredible place - don't hesitate to stay here!
Super welcoming and friendly with easy check in / out.
Spotlessly clean, and very comfy beds. Excellent hot showers.
Super fun activities such as city walk, sunset hike and family dinner.
Overall a gorgeous house that has been thoughtfully restored and great vibe
