Conveniently located in the centre of Aberdeen, Lochnagar Guest House offers free WiFi, a garden and free private parking for guests who drive. The stay at Lochnagar was beyond my expectations (which were high after reading many reviews). The place is charming, very tidy, clean, quiet and comfortable. Location was also very convenient for me - on a quiet street, but 5-10 minutes from anywhere (city center, bust station, train station, Union Square mall). In addition, Neil, the host was especially kind and highly responsive, reaching out before my arrival and during my stay.

With a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dee, this charming Scottish mansion dates back to 1225 AD, and was once home to the Knights Templar. Such a beautiful property. We were there for a wedding. The staff were great and the rooms are excellent.

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Craggan is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Ballater, 16 km from Balmoral Castle. We just loved everything! A beautiful place to enjoy the nature (the view to the mountains, watching wild rabbits, birds etc.) after an active hiking day. The room was just perfect. The best breakfast in the UK! The hosts are very friendly and genuinely nice people. We would love to come back soon.

Set in Tarves in the Grampian region, Cosy and modern 1 bedroom garden house - very dog friendly! offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. It was a lovely cozy apartment, warm and had everything we needed, Tina was lovely and even did a load of washing for us. A lovely pack of strawberries awaited us and Tina suggested we have a look in her orchard and taste some of her lovely fruit. So we enjoyed some gooseberries and raspberries and black and red currants. We had a very enjoyable stay, very quiet and a really lovely comfy bed. Very peaceful area and sooo quiet. If you want a nice, quiet, romantic place to stay for a few days or longer THEN GET IN TOUCH WITH TINA and stay here.

Situated in Dufftown, in a historic building, 22 km from Huntly Castle, Abbeyfield B&B is a guest house with a garden and shared lounge. The house was beautifully renovated and comfortable. Our hostess, Kira, was wonderful. There was always fresh fruit available and a lovely cozy living room with a fireplace. I would have liked to stay there for a longer time.

Boasting garden views, Alba - Charming boutique forest view cabin with hot tub in Ballater features accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 15 km from Balmoral Castle. Cabin was clean and warm. Location was good as many things to do within driving distance. Would definitely recommend it. Perfect if you're looking for somewhere to base yourself. Going up ladder for top bed good for older kids.

Offering a garden and river view, The Fiddichside Inn is located in Aberlour, 30 km from Huntly Castle and 35 km from Grantown Museum. Beautiful setting, comfortable space with 2 bedrooms/baths and full kitchen & living. Could have stayed comfortably for several days. Owner very responsive. The attached bar was a fun place to meet the locals. Angus, the bartender, was very hospitable, & knowledgable about the flavor profiles of the wide variety of spirits available. We felt very welcome while the locals regaled us with stories of their families and the area’s history. Remember it’s a bar not a pub-they don’t serve food but they can recommend a couple of restaurants. The outdoor seating by the river was an added plus! Definitely worth a visit!
