M&R is an innovative and well designed Guest House. Clean and comfortable. My wife and I only stayed one night before taking a flight. It is just a few minutes drive away from the airport. Machico offers a nice range of good food. We could have stayed a few days longer as well, if it wasn't for the flight.

The house is very spacious, with a huge living room with kitchen, one bathroom with a massive shower and two bedrooms (one double, one twin with small balcony). There is a washing machine with a drying rack that can be used. The house is located in the upper part of Machico, at a 3-min drive from the city centre, where there are two big supermarkets, the beach, bakery, bus station, etc. There is a small grocery store down the road (literally 50m from the doorstep). We really appreciated the free and secured parking space in the front yard of the house. All main sights on the island are reachable easily by car (airport 5min, Funchal 20min, Areeiro 35min, Porto Moniz 1h20m, São Lourenço 15min, Câmara de Lobos 30min), given the convenient location, not far from the Via Rápida highway. Finally, Marco, the host, was very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here for your holiday in Madeira.
