This stay really exceeded our expectations. The camp was lovely and secluded and well away from others and really felt authentic and ‘in’ the desert and not just at the edge like others available which we drove past. Ali and Fatima made our lives very easy and were very communicative, allowing us to use their 4x4 to drive ourselves in convoy with them from bidiyah where we parked our rental car. Activities were really varied and good value for money - we did the sunset camel ride which was very special and the all day quad hiking which was an absolute highlight of our Omani holiday. Food was also delicious and freshly made and lots of it. Our room was also very clean and hotel like (despite being in the middle of the desert) and had a bath on the balcony. I would really recommend staying 2 nights as we did to have a full day to enjoy the desert. I spent a long time researching which camp to go for and am very happy I chose this one - highly recommend.

Wonderful experience from the beginning till the end. Perfect location few hundred meters from the road which gives sense of privacy and also provides spectacular views over the dunes. Haven’t tried any additional activities offered by the camp - relaxing in the middle of the desert was worth the price. Staff provided great food options - consider all need to be cooked in a simple kitchen.
In my opinion this is by far much better option than any fancy camps

Hamad is a perfect host. He takes care of everything you need and makes your stay a wonderful adventure. Food was very tasty prepared by Hassan who serves you best and keeps the place nice and clean. Despite a little sandstorm and bad weather we had a perfect stay.

This camp is located higher up on the dunes, it feels very remote and quiet, especially compared to the majority of other camps closer to the villages (we would not have wanted to stay there).
Faiz is one of the best hosts we have ever met: He is kind, funny, open to share about Omani culture and traditions: we had lots of interesting conversations at the dinner table. He arranged dune bashing and a camel ride for us, making sure we have a private car for the two of us. He even took us dune bashing with our car on the way back as my boyfriend was keen to try it out. He truly cares about his guests and will make sure you have a good time.
The rest of the staff is lovely as well & food is probably the best we have had in Oman.
Facilities are basic (you are in the desert) but comfortable and clean - we loved the shower!
Overall a great stay thanks to Faiz & crew & we will recommend to anyone!

Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
- highly recommend booking the desert drive for 30 OMR (per car), this included the transfer to/from the camp from the parking lot. The drive to the camp includes a serious uphill section, a cheap 4x4 rental got stuck several and couldn't make it. The desert drive is lots of fun, the driver will drive to 2 viewpoints (for sunset) with fun dune driving in between.

Great location out of everything in the middle of the desert. A short climb to the top of the big dune with amazing views. Nice staff, though they speak only basic English. Nice dinner, tasty and sitting by the fire enjoying the stars later. The tents are clean ans spacious with roofless bathroom attached. Great for spending a night away from almost everything.
The desert camp far exceeded my expectations for an experience in the desert. The location was quiet and secluded which gave me plenty of time to catch up on my reading. At night the dinner served was amazing and I spent several hours stargazing from outside of my tent (the stars are so visible here, I ended up seeing 3 shooting stars!). In the morning the breakfast was also fantastic and a great way to start the day. The owner and staff were very helpful and happy to assist.

The location in the middle of the Dunes, the simple yet authentic camp, and the kindness of the owner really made our stay memorable.
I would definetly recommend to anyone looking for the true bedouin experience!
The place is exceptional cut off from the world. The ideal location to listen to the silence of the desert. The camp is family-run and the owner and his friend are very friendly. Less expensive than the other camps and just as qualitative or perhaps better. The transfer is easy from the entrance of the desert. I recommend without hesitation.
