The hotel is remodeled in a fairly classy understated way. It's a very small place, but they did a good job of making it look nice. The breakfast was actually pretty good - although the coffee and cappuccino were not good at all. Bathroom was larger than normal - albeit with no bidet. TV included one English language channel (CNN). The location is pretty good - it's slightly further from the train station, but it's pretty close to the little square where the van from the dock will let you out. It's on a pedestrian street pretty close to the main tourist street. It's generally quiet, but we heard the phone alarm go off in the next room, and were awakened by motorcycles and carts before 7 am.

The staff was very accommodating and both the front desk and the restaurant employees went out of their way to take great care of us The included breakfast every morning was exceptional. The Grand Excelsior Vittoria is the epitomy of magnificent hotels in Sorrento. The private location in the middle of the city and the expansive views of the gulf are inimitable. It was a very nice stay! Luigi helped us a lot and gave us a lot of advice which helped us enormously. The location is ideal, right in the center and 2 minutes from the beach. The location was ideal, with a convenient and inexpensive 2-euro direct bus to Sorrento city centre. The hosts provided valuable information, and Gianmario was exceptionally friendly from the moment we arrived, assisting us with navigation and offering great recommendations throughout our stay.
The apartment was incredible. It was wonderfully situated, very clean and comfortable, and Virginia and her son were so helpful and accommodating - plus they were just wonderful to engage with! The location is just outside the main part so it is quiet enough but still very close to all the main attractions and shops. We would 100% book again. Virginia herself was a delight to deal with and you can feel her love for this family home. We loved the personal touches - it made it feel as though we were staying with a friend.
