We stopped in transit on our way to Tropea. My family and I rented two rooms for one night. We arrived late at night and were greeted well. The guy at the reception even opened the bar for us so we could have a few drinks and relax. The breakfast was standard, coffee, croissants, cookies, but it was enough for us.

Our room smelled awfully like limestone and moisture, they should ventilate more often. Was it clean? I hope. The bedsheets were fresh and dry from laundry. The furniture was all in all extremely out of date, i think the bed and the wardrobe was just as old as me. I've only seen an air conditioner like that, perhaps, in movies back in the 90's. The get-up - just a drama. Different from the TV "no signal", the Wifi worked. There was a mini-fridge, not sure if it worked though.
Breakfast: Not the biggest choice, but the crossiants were very good - warm, fresh and tasty, the other stuff like cornflakes and drinks - ok. The dining room - a real thight fit.. The tables and seat places enough for maybe 1 or 2 coffee cups, but not for the breakfast, just uncomfortable.
The spacious and secured parking lot is pretty nice.
Location: quite far away from all the interesting sights, so the price is small compared to the other hotels in the surrounding area.
To sum up: it fits as a 1-night Bed-and-Breakfast-and-Forget. The price is the biggest advantage - you just can't find any other place cheaper than this here, that's it.
Not under any circumstances to recommend.

The stay at the Hotel La Mela in Varcaturo was very nice. We were allowed to check in earlier than agreed and we received a very warm welcome! The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and very helpful! The hotel manager Giovanni greeted the guests every morning for breakfast and made sure that everything was fine. We felt at home! And if there was ever a problem, they dealt with it immediately. Unfortunately, the drain in my shower was a bit blocked by toilet paper (my own fault) and my room was a bit wet. When I returned in the evening, my room looked super clean, as if nothing had ever happened. Because my father was not very good at walking and we did not have a rental car, Giovanni was also kind enough to provide us with a driver who drove us to the beach and back. We were also able to easily book a transfer to the Reggia di Caserta with the reception within a few minutes by paying the usual rates. We had to leave before breakfast time, so the reception and Giovanni were kind enough to offer us breakfast at 6 a.m. (normally only from 7 a.m.). All in all, the Hotel La Mela has a lot of heart and from what I have heard from other guests, the Hotel La Mela is better and more reliable than the surrounding hotels, which I can confirm from my own experience. If I were to travel to Varcaturo again, I would always choose the Hotel La Mela!

Room was enormous and very clean. Hotel staff wee friendly and accommodating, had to check in at short notice due to flight cancellation and they couldn't have made things easier.

We started our trip to Italy with staying at this hotel. It is a stunning family run hotel. They are the nicest people and so helpful with recommendations on travelling to amalfi. Myself & my daughter stayed the night they ordered us proper Italian pizza when we landed after they picked us up from the airport. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here whether your travelling down to sorrento or staying in Naples. The owners are wonderful ♥️
Very clean property, once inside the gate you felt like you were in a different location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was a real positive. No issues with sun loungers and lots of different spaces. The pool bar was great for lunchtime and very reasonably priced.
