The Blackhorse Accommodation, hotel in Wigtown

This family-run hotel is located in Newton Stewart, a charming Scottish town on the River Cere. With free Wi-Fi throughout and free parking on site, it is around 5 minutes’ walk from the town center.

There was no breakfast, given the price. It was very easy to go to Sainsbury's and buy some items. What an excellent base to have a look at Galloway and it was very easy to find my way around. I need to return and explore the surroundings even more.

I stayed at Craigmount for 2 nights, and I will definitely be back. Nicole and Malcolm are fantastic hosts, the rooms are spotlessly clean and have everything you could need, and the breakfast and supper was delicious. The location of the B&B is great, just a short walk from Wigtown’s bookshops, and I was glad to have the ability to park off the road too.

An idyllic location if you enjoy farmed countryside in a peaceful spot just off the beaten track. The Bothy is well-cared for and spotlessly clean throughout. It comfortably accommodated our group of 3 adults. The kitchen area is compact, but well-equipped and fine for a couple of nights away.

Great location in the heart of Wigtown. Easy walk to the bookshops and the excellent ReadingLasses cafe with its huge range of home-baked cakes and great soup. The house is roomy and comfortable and very clean. The shower we used is good and the mattress comfortable. It proved a great base for cycling the Mull of Galloway and Isle of Whithorn and there was plenty of room to store our bikes.

Location was very good, with only a short walk to the high street. Malcolm made everyone feel welcome at breakfast. He was the perfect front of house man. His wife Nicole made a very delicious breakfast. The room was spotlessly clean with everything needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent location right in the centre of Wigtown. Easy parking. The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owner had left biscuits, tea and coffee as well as essentials like toilet paper, soap and washing up liquid.
